Comparisons
How this differs from the tools you already use
Identity resolution rarely replaces another tool. These comparisons cover what each category does well, so you can see where it fits.
Comparisons by category
We compare categories, not named vendors, because vendor products change and we would rather be fair than quick.
Identity resolution vs. loyalty signups
One tells you about visitors. The other creates a customer relationship with permission.
Learn moreIdentity resolution vs. retargeting
One shows you people. The other shows them ads, on the platforms that allow it.
Learn moreIdentity resolution vs. web analytics
One counts behavior in aggregate. The other tries to attach a profile to it.
Learn moreThe question to ask first
Before comparing tools, name the decision you need to make. If you need a way to message customers, you need a permission-based channel such as loyalty, email, or text. If you need to stay visible with past visitors, retargeting is the direct option where an ad channel accepts your business. If you need to measure what happens on your site, you need web analytics. If you want to know who the traffic may be, that is where identity resolution comes in.
Many cannabis teams end up with several of these, and that is fine as long as each one has a clear job. Trouble starts when one tool gets asked to do the work of another, especially when matched data gets treated as if it were a permission-based list. Read about consent and disclosure before connecting any of them together.
See it on your own traffic
We will walk through the portal, the pixel, and how consent works, then answer questions about your stores and systems.
